Era

Do we live in time, or does time live in us?

In an impressive wooden structure, stones move up and down. They hang from wires that spin up and down along a mechanical wheel. Like a swarm, they go around ERA, a three-meter tall figure.
Era emerges from the past present and future.
Like a warrior for time
A guardian of our memories
Or does Era keep our future dreams hidden in a bag?
In the dark they grow on for later

The stones are counting down

Each time a new language
From yonder to here
From then to now

Era is a large kinetic installation that represents time like a clock or countdown machine within a 'time logic' all its own. Like a pause button, ERA aims to literally make us pause for a moment.
Taking time to watch time pass.
