Dokuman

Taldans’ collaborative new work appears as a puncture in time, carving affirmations as well as disjunctions within a series of reversible threads woven into image and vision, sound and voice, function and operation. It invites a playful anticipation of where it will leak towards through the silent yet potent cracks, fissures, and defects forged within a seemingly seamless system.

Is this an antique clockwork that needs constant winding? Is this a low-tech game from the Atari generation? What kind of a unity is trying to be formed by the coming together of such unusual singularities? Dokuman redefines instrument and instrumentality in its modular landscape where functions create forms and transitory environments.
